Two common reasons to call

Either way, let's get you unstuck.

You don't need a technical plan. Just tell us which part of your current setup isn't working.

01 / I WANT OUT

My website provider is making it hard to leave.

Maybe your domain is locked, nobody will give you the transfer code, or you're afraid canceling the website plan will break your business email. We'll untangle what you own, what's connected, and the practical steps to move.

02 / I WANT TO SPEND LESS

I'm paying too much for a basic website.

If your site barely changes but your subscription keeps renewing, you may not need the plan you're on. We'll check what you're paying for and whether simpler hosting, a different provider, or a small rebuild makes financial sense.

What we handle

The technical details are our job.

Website platforms often bundle domains, hosting, email and site-building tools into one subscription. We separate the pieces, protect what's important and recommend only what you actually need.

01

Domain transfers

Registrar changes, transfer codes, account access, domain locks, nameservers and transfer coordination.

02

Hosting cost reviews

Find unnecessary website subscription costs and compare alternatives before moving anything.

03

Website moves & rebuilds

Migrate your existing website when possible, or plan a straightforward rebuild when your builder won't let it move.

04

DNS & email

Review DNSSEC, DNS settings and mail records so the website move doesn't overlook your business email.

05

Provider complications

Work through unclear ownership, missing credentials, registrar support and appropriate transfer escalation routes.

06

Clean handoff

Verify the new setup and make sure you know who controls the domain, hosting, email and renewals.

How it works

First, figure out what you're actually paying for.

Not every website needs to move. Sometimes the best solution is changing a plan, transferring only the domain, or keeping the site where it is. We start with the least disruptive option that addresses the problem.

No forced hosting contract. We can help you set up a provider in your own account. If you want ongoing hosting or technical support from us, that's optional.
  1. 01
    Review the setup

Tell us your website address, current provider, recurring bill and what's going wrong. We identify the domain registrar, host, email dependencies and available options.

  2. 02
    Pick the right exit

We'll outline what can stay, what needs to change, likely third-party charges, risks and a clear project estimate before you commit.

  3. 03
    Make the move

We coordinate the domain, hosting, website and DNS changes in the right order, with email and access planned in advance.

  4. 04
    Check and hand it over

We check the site and key records, review renewals, and make sure you understand the new account setup.

Frequently asked questions

Before you cancel anything.

There are a few details worth checking before you turn off a website subscription or initiate a domain transfer.

Can I leave my website provider without losing my domain?

Often, yes. Your domain registration and your website hosting are separate services, even if you're paying for them together. We'll check who controls the domain and which services are linked before planning a move.

Can you help if my provider won't release my domain?

We can review ownership and account access, determine what is blocking a transfer, and work through registrar support or appropriate escalation routes. Some restrictions are legitimate and can't be bypassed. We'll be clear about what's possible.

Can I keep my current website when I switch hosting?

Sometimes. WordPress and custom-built sites can often move; some closed website builders don't allow their sites to be exported. If a rebuild is needed, we'll explain that and quote it before starting.

Will my business email keep working?

That's something we plan for before making changes. We review who hosts your email, which DNS records it depends on, and whether your current plan includes email service. We aim to minimize interruption, but can't promise zero downtime.

Do I have to use Wynkoop Consulting for hosting afterwards?

No. Your domain and hosting accounts should be under your control. We can recommend or configure third-party hosting, and ongoing support from us is entirely optional.

What does a domain or website move cost?

A simple domain transfer is different from a full website migration or a complicated registrar dispute. We'll review your setup and give you an estimate before you commit. Registrar, hosting and third-party fees are separate.

Ready for a better setup?

Tell us what's going on.

Send your website address, the provider you're using, and what you'd like to change. We'll help you understand the next step, whether that's a transfer, a less expensive plan, or a bigger move.

Ask about your website

No changes or cancellations until there's a plan.
